Jan Wessel works with different forms of expression, spanning such areas as painting, lightboxes, collage, monotypes, lithography, assemblage and installation.
Through his many and varied exhibitions one may encounter elements that appear familiar – perhaps for some a flashback of a previous experience – forgotten, yet still buried deep within the subconscious.
Numerous associations and references are embedded within Jan Wessel’s pictorial space – representing an entanglement of life and art, together with the artist’s personal view on its comprehensive image potential.

Jan Wessel has exhibited at fairs and galleries in Germany, Japan, England, Belgium, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. He is represented at various museums and foundations in Denmark
The lightboxes are made in Danish walnut, containing driver, attenuator with on / off function, LED light and fitted with a colored fabric cord that matches the individual lightbox
