James Sparshatt is a British photographic artist whose work dramatically captures the vibrancy and emotional intensity of life. His black and white images of music and dance from the Latin world; the flamenco of Spain, tango from Argentina, salsa from the streets of Havana, are full of movement and emotion.
He has been exhibited in New York, Texas, London, Spain, Cuba and across the UK. His exhibition at the Royal National Theatre was described in the Sunday Telegraph as “a dazzling collection of black and white images…”. A selection of his work is produced in collaboration with 31 Studio as palladium platinum prints – the ultimate in collectible bespoke craft printing.James’ work has been a winner of the International Exhibition at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado, USA, been shortlisted for the Sony World Photographic Awards and been a finalist in the World Photography Gala awards. His print “Soweto Strings” was auctioned at Sotheby’s in New York in November 2011.
